Do I need Help,where to go ?Work Related Issue !?
I am having a problem at work that is causing me alot of Distress,to the point where I am afraid I may get Violent because of the unfair treatment I am receiving.Let me give some additional details of my situation.
I work as a Lead Baker on an Air Force Base in California.I auctually work for 2 companies as the Job is contracted out through a private company.But the big issue is with the way the Air Force inspectors treat the Civilian Workers,including myself.If you make a mistake you get written up without a chance to correct the issue.Each write up I consider a threat to my job as they say you may be terminated if you get another write up.
I work very hard at my Job and when I started I had a helper a few days a week which allowed me a chance to keep up on all the extra duties like cleaning ,organizing recipes,bookwork.Now because of Budget cuts I am stuck doing 3 times as much work by myself,I ask for help to no avail even though other positens have assistants.So I admit I have to take short cuts to get done sometimes,but never at the expense of violating food safety rules.However last night I screwed up for a Breif second and was caught by Inspector,I was cutting the tops of a cake to get ready to add icing and I wasnt wearing a Glove,but in my defense I had just washed my hands (even put sanytizer on my hands)while cutting cake I never touched with bare hands as I was using a piece of wax paper to cover where hand was.When I realized I needed a glove is when inspector came around corner and all he seen was I didnt have a Glove on,but I was in process of putting one on.He made a comment I will have to write you up.At that point in order not to go off on him I walked away and took a time out.First off all anyone who has ever worn food gloves knows that immediately after washing hands and drying as best you can ,its next to immpossible to get a glove on your hands,but the policy is to wash hands and put on new gloves.Up to that point last night I was following every rule to the T.What Inspector did was catch me catching myself not having on a Glove.I feel he didnt allow me to correct problem.Then throughout the night different Supervisors got on to me about the issue.One Supervisor really pissed me off as she acted all perfect herself and she never makes mistakes(Not).
Okay I admitte my mistake and it was corrected immediatly.How do I not get enraged when this issue gets brough back up to me again,I know it will,thats how are company works.I cant change what happenned but I need help controlling my anger .Should I seek help .How would others have handeled situation.Like to hear from others who get harrassed at work,how do you react.
I guess my problem is the constant criticism,at my Job it just seems like everyone is waiting for someone to screw up for it can be rubbed in.Like they get some form of pleasure out of it.Never given credit for the good work you do.I need to find away to not get so stressed over being written up.
I sorry, but from my work experience the "write up" is your chance to correct the error. For the health, safety, and fairness to all employees it is a good thing that they are making a record of mistakes. If you do not constantly make mistakes it should not be an issue. It certainly should not cause you so much stress that you would harm someone.
